In Memoriam
Jaxon Moore (April 4, 2004 – June 20, 2025) was a videographer and photographer based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His journey as a videographer started when he was in high school. He was always interested in photography and filmmaking, and would spend hours tinkering with his camera, experimenting with different angles and lighting.
When he was 16, he got his first camera, and he was hooked. He loved the creative process of capturing moments and telling stories through video.
After graduating from high school, he decided to pursue his passion for videography and enrolled in the University of Windsor's BFA Film program, where he would have entered his final year. In his time at the university, under the name Action Jaxon on Instagram, he created an amazing back catalogue of photos, videos, and movies that can still be found today on his Instagram and YouTube channels.
He was a vital part of the film community in the Windsor-Essex County area, and his love for film was felt through every person he had the chance to come across.
Unfortunately, on June 20th, his life was abruptly cut short when he passed away in his sleep due to an unknown heart condition. However, this does not mean his legacy ends there. Our love for him, his work, and his impact continue to live on.
Jaxon was a promising young filmmaker who had everything going for him and was destined to make a significant mark on the industry. His catalogue of work remains available today through YouTube and Instagram.

To become the defining platform for emerging filmmakers in Windsor-Essex — a festival that combines the warmth of community with the ambition of world-class cinema. We envision an annual event that grows alongside the filmmakers it champions.
Windsor-Essex has a vibrant creative underground. The Action Jaxon Film Festival exists to bring that community together — to create a space where young filmmakers are seen, heard, and celebrated. Jaxon was the kind of person who made everyone around him feel like they belonged. We carry that forward.
We are committed to providing meaningful opportunities for filmmakers under 30 in the Windsor-Essex region. From mentorship connections to screening opportunities, the festival aims to be a genuine launchpad — not just a venue.
We're building something that will last. Future editions of the festival will include award categories, filmmaker grants, workshops, Q&A panels, and partnerships with film schools and cultural institutions across Ontario and beyond.
