The Action Jaxon Film Festival

A grassroots celebration of cinema in Windsor-Essex — built by filmmakers, for filmmakers.

In Memoriam

Jaxon Moore

April 4, 2004 — June 20, 2025

Jaxon Moore (April 4, 2004 – June 20, 2025) was a videographer and photographer based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His journey as a videographer started when he was in high school. He was always interested in photography and filmmaking, and would spend hours tinkering with his camera, experimenting with different angles and lighting.

When he was 16, he got his first camera, and he was hooked. He loved the creative process of capturing moments and telling stories through video.

After graduating from high school, he decided to pursue his passion for videography and enrolled in the University of Windsor's BFA Film program, where he would have entered his final year. In his time at the university, under the name Action Jaxon on Instagram, he created an amazing back catalogue of photos, videos, and movies that can still be found today on his Instagram and YouTube channels.

He was a vital part of the film community in the Windsor-Essex County area, and his love for film was felt through every person he had the chance to come across.

Unfortunately, on June 20th, his life was abruptly cut short when he passed away in his sleep due to an unknown heart condition. However, this does not mean his legacy ends there. Our love for him, his work, and his impact continue to live on.

Jaxon was a promising young filmmaker who had everything going for him and was destined to make a significant mark on the industry. His catalogue of work remains available today through YouTube and Instagram.
